          Context

A fresh new identity for Highlander grounds its 90-year legacy of movement building in a contemporary visual language that amplifies its roots in Southern Appalachia. The rebrand weaves together archival depth, activist clarity, and cultural vibrancy across a dynamic system that honors Highlander’s role as both a school and a force—training and resourcing the next generation of organizers through a platform as strategic as it is soulful.

          Context

The Highlander logo lockup serves as the signature across all communications, symbolizing the organization’s powerful purpose to use education as a tool for building a new, equitable world. Its radical vision is reflected through a dynamic, text-based emblem designed to move—evoking the peaks and valleys of the Appalachian landscape. This emblem is paired with a wordmark set in a friendly yet institutional serif, grounding the visual system while nodding to Highlander’s rich and credible history as a movement school.
